Villa Loggia, Santa Rosa, CA

These clients selected our design firm to create their dream house based on a previous Mediterranean style project we had completed in Kenwood. The program for the client was to design an enduring solution providing three separate living wings hosting adults, children and grand children. We were also asked to be involved with the site selection which included locating and recommending an idyllic 17-acre site at 1100 feet above sea level with magnificent views of the Santa Rosa plain and the Bennett and Sonoma Valleys.

We were approved to build a 5,000+ square foot single-level main house with 2000 square feet of covered loggias, therefore affectionately naming the estate "Villa Loggia". The main house features a stately great room with a 20 foot ceiling height and coffered ceilings. The 1200 square foot kitchen has a wood-burning oven with a raised cantilevered limestone hearth and a climate controlled wine room for 1500 bottles. The detached garage with living quarters on the second floor is a stately building in its own right, featuring a stone clad stairway leading to a covered terrace with iron balustrades and full height columns which frame the western views and sunsets.
