At first the owner was cautiously optimistic when we proposed the 3 foot x 3 foot wide stone columns to carry the new trellis work across the front of the house, but after they were built it was clear that these really fit the scale and proportion of the new entryway.
Going big can be dangerous. The old saying "Don't try this at home" is true. When remodeling we try to introduce things that will make a significant impact which often means introducing larger scale items.
We think we did a good job on this one and got it right. Our client thinks so too.
